Paris, A Capital History

Archaeologists have found the first traces of settlements in Paris on the banks of the Seine, a strategic place for river transport. From there, the narration leads to the evolution of the city into a modest Roman city: Lutèce. The urbanistic ambitions led to the expansion of the left bank with the construction of the forum and the thermal baths. The decline of the Roman Empire left the Christians in control of the city.
