In the year 2070, multiple space stations fall due to a supernova explosion, bringing catastrophic disasters to Earth. This incident is referred to as the “Skyfall Calamity.” Following the Skyfall Calamity, unknown cosmic bacteria arrive on Earth, gradually eroding or assimilating earthly matter and giving rise to entirely new life forms—the “Transcendent Beings.” To survive, humans designate the dangerous areas inhabited by the Transcendent Beings as “Domains”, and establish an ideal society called “Cities”, which exists free from the constraints of the body, consciousness, space, and time. Maru, a boy living in the City, and Coco, an Aidara girl who remains in the Domain and coexists with monsters, inhabit two opposing worlds. Yet, together they embark on a journey to seek coexistence and the meaning of life.
