After a personal tragedy, Daniil Talich leaves the capital city for a quiet provincial town and takes a job as a librarian. One day he spots an open trash bin with the body of a blonde inside. Detective Glikeria Davydova - fearless and determined - arrives, only to find no trace of a corpse. Later, Talich discovers an ad about a missing girl, eerily resembling the one he saw... except the paper is 20 years old.
